Terrace Cafe Reviews

"The Right Stuff"

My husband and I got married here - I know, at a Best Western Hotel - but The Terrace Cafe (the name of the restaurant and hall) staff was very accommodating, and Michael, the planner, did a fantastic job. The food here is good, and the hall where we had our reception has this curvy bar which shares its back wall with the pool, and at night the pool is lit, and you can see the water behind the bar, which is just so cheesy and cool I had to get married there (it's also where they filmed one of the scenes of the movie "The Right Stuff" - one of my all-time favorite movies and books). I wanted to hire synchronized swimmers to perform during the reception, but my husband drew the line at getting married here.

"Classy Taste at Reasonable Prices"

Tucked away in the back area of El Rancho Inn is a wonderful cozy restaurant called the "Terrace Cafe." If cruising down El Camino Real looking for this restaurant, I can guarantee you'll miss it! Why? Because you cannot see the restaurant from the street. There is a small little sign on the street that advertises the Terrace Cafe, but that can even be missed.

As you enter the restaurant, it has this nice, warm, resort type feeling as if you were on a vacation. They do have a cocktail bar for drinks. The place is casual mixed with tourist and locals (although it's really hard to tell).

The food is great! It's your traditional American fare such as pork medallions, rib eye steak, stuffed chicken breast, seafood pasta, lamb shanks, grilled salmon, etc. They basically cater to any meat/seafood/vegetables that you are craving. The food has a fancy gourmet look and taste without having to dine dressed up for a night on the town. Casual attire is acceptable at this restaurant. The portions are just right and the prices are reasonable in comparison to what you'll have at typical franchise hotel.

The service is exceptional! We had a group of nine people and our waiter "Ryan" was helpful, friendly, and very accommodating. They even put us in a nicely decorated private room. The staff too was very friendly.

They also have catering available as well.

Try this place if you want classy taste at reasonable prices, in a casual environment.

A hidden gem located at the El Rancho Inn..Yummy!: It's too bad that more locals don't know about The Terrace Cafe which is situated in the middle of the El Rancho Inn in Millbrae.

I have been there many times for lunch and dinner and the food is always tasty, fresh and consistent. The crab cakes are wonderful and the menu has weekly specials along with outstanding pasta, fish and steak dishes.

The Terrace Cafe is also a great place for wedding receptions. Their banquet facilities are the best in the area. I had my wedding reception there and the attnetion to detail is what was so impressive for our banquet
